그녀와 한 할아버지가 나무 아래서 이야기를 하고 있다.

그녀: 할아버지, 왜 자꾸 그렇게 쳐다보세요?
할아버지: 너무 예뻐서... 천사가 올라오는 줄 알았어.
그녀: 3년 전에 남자친구하고 이 나무 아래에 편지를 묻어 놨었거든요. 묻어 놓은 편지… 작년에 만나서 꺼내 보기로 했었는데... 올 수가 없었어요.
할아버지: 일 년이나 늦었네.
그녀: 이 년은 그렇게 긴 시간이 아니더라구요... 전 아무것도 결정하지 못했어요. 그동안 바보 같은 생각만 하고 있었으니까... 우리가 정말 만날 운명이라면... 어디선가 우연히 마주치게 되지 않을까?
할아버지: 운명이란 말이야... 노력하는 사람한테는 우연이란 다리를 놓아주는 거야. 나  사실은 저 밑에 묻어 놓은 편지들을 봤어.

The girl: Excuse me, why are you staring at me?
Elderly man: Because you’re so beautiful... I thought an angel had come down from above.
The girl: My boyfriend and I buried a letter here three years ago. We promised to dig it up and read it a year ago… But I couldn’t come.
Elderly man: I guess you’re a year late.
The girl: Two years didn’t seem like such a long time. I couldn’t make a decision at all. I just wasted my time on stupid thoughts. If we were really destined to meet, I thought we’d meet by chance somewhere else.
Elderly man: You say it’s fate… For somebody who really strives, fate means building a bridge. Actually, I read the letters you buried here.
